Irish Man Reaches Top of the World

From Liam on Monday 23rd May 2011

Limerick man Mark Quinn has become the youngest Irish person ever, to reach the top of Mount Everest.

He and his team reached the summit in the early hours of this morning, Irish time.

Mount Everest is 8,848 metres above sea level and over 250 people have died attempting to climb it.

Mark Quinn climbed the world’s highest mountain for the Shane Geoghegan Trust.

The charity was set up after the Garryowen rugby player was shot dead in a case of mistaken identity.
